My yoga journey began over 8 years ago to support my knee injuries and muscular aches from middle distance running. I remember my very first yoga class very vividly and felt the benefits of stretching and strengthening my body instantly. The greatest and unexpected benefit was the stilling of my busy mind and the discovery of calmness. I was hooked!
Yoga became my refuge. Regardless of how crazy life is – the demands, expectations, triumphs, disappointments… are left behind. On the mat, we are given the indulgent gift of time and invited to give our undivided attention… to ourselves. That is the gift of yoga I seek to share.
My passion and interest in yoga led me to attend intensives and teacher training with Sarah Powers in 2013 and 2014 in Yin, Yang and Mindfulness Meditation. Her teachings have transformed my life.
In 2014, I left my successful corporate career to follow my dreams – returning to University to study Psychology and become a Yoga Teacher, completing my Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Assists with Body Mind Life; and Anatomy & Physiology with Ellen Head of Forrest Yoga.
Whether it’s a dynamic Vinyasa flow class to a more still Yin practice – my classes find the balance between honouring ones limitations, to guiding students to delve deep and expand the edges of their comfort zone.
I genuinely believe that our health and how we treat ourselves is a reflection of our own self- worth. Through my traditional yoga training and psychology studies I want to empower people to discover their optimal health and feel fabulous, in mind and body. We are all worthy of that.
