Yoga for Beginners Course

For those who are new to yoga and wanting a slower and comprehensive introduction to yoga

Our Yoga for Beginners Course will introduce you to yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Each week there will be a new focus in which the classes are themed around from Sun Salutes to Supported Inversions. Upon completion of this course, you will have the confidence to attend our Yoganic Yoga classes.

Course Structure:

Week 1: Breathing and linking movement with the breath (vinyasa)
Week 2: Sun Salute A
Week 3: Finding your Ground: Standing Postures
Week 4: Sun Salute B
Week 5: Forward Bends and Hip Openers
Week 6: Twists
Week 7: Balancing
Week 8: Backbends
Week 9: Intro to Inversions
Week 10: Integration

How do I book?

What do I need to bring?

Please bring along a yoga mat or you can hire one for $2 each week.

What do I wear?

We recommend you wear comfortable, stretchy clothing and bare feet. Change rooms are provided. Personal belongings can be stored in the pigeon holes but we encourage you to leave your valuables at home or in the car.

What if I'm not flexible?

Then Yoga is just the thing for you! Many people think that they need to be flexible to do Yoga, but that’s like thinking that you need to be able to swim to take swimming lessons. You will find that your flexibility will improve over time with practice and patience. The Yoga for Beginner’s course is a good place to start.

What if I have an injury?

To ensure that each student receives lots of attention, we limit the number of participants on our Yoga for Beginner’s course . Our teachers will show you how to modify the postures to assist healing, preventing further damage and to help manage your pain. Yoga is a form of therapy has been proven to assist with back, neck, shoulder, wrist and knee pain. Many yoga teachers were introduced to yoga when they suffered an injury. For example, Melissa, Yoganic’s Director, came to yoga after it helped her to recover from chronic back pain suffered after being hit by a car as a pedestrian.

What if I'm pregnant?

We recommend that you join one of our 10- weekly Pregnancy Yoga, Pilates or Pilates Reformer classes which are tailored to the pregnant woman’s changing body.

Can I take advantage of the Intro Offer?

Unfortunately you can’t use the Intro Offer for the Yoga for Beginners series but on completion of this, you’re entitled to purchase the Intro Offer to attend our Yoganic Yoga, Yin or Reformer classes.

What are my options once I have completed the Yoga for Beginners Series?

Upon completion of the Yoga for Beginners series you will have the confidence to attend our Yoganic Yoga or Yin Yoga classes for which you may use our $49 Intro Pass.
