Why do Pilates?

 

Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, after who it was named. Pilates follows six principles: concentration, control, centering, flow, precision and breathing. There is an emphasis on connecting mind, breath and movement. Pilates is low impact and focuses on flexibility, muscular strength and muscular endurance.

 

The benefits of Pilates are infinite and varied! Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It can also make an excellent addition to your exiting training.

Beginner Reformer

Beginner reformer is suitable for absolute beginners, those waning to master the basics, returning from a break or wanting simpler and easier choreography.

Our beginner classes focus on developing good technique and learning the Pilates repetoire so that ytou can get the most out of your Pilates classes in the future.

Not suitable for pregnant or postnatal mums.

Postnatal Pilates Reformer Class

Postnatal Reformer

Postnatal Reformer classes are for our new mums following their 6/8 week check. We focus on rebuilding you strength starting from your core.

Our postnatal classes are specifically designed for new mums to alleviate the aches and pains that come with mothering small children.

Perfect "me time" for our new mums - you'll leave feeling refreshed and stronger.

No prior Pilates experience required.

Pilates Mat Class

Pilates Mat

This Pilates Mat is easy? Think again! Pilates Mat uses your body weight as resistance to add challenge to exercises.

This class is an open level class but will offer more challenging options for advanced clients.

Our Pilates Mat classes will offer a challenging flow with plenty of abdominal work, glute strengthening and balance work.

Not suitable for beginners, clients with osteoporosis, pregnant or postnatal mums.

Yoganic Reformer

Yoganic reformer is our signature reformer class. Classes may use a variety pf props such as balls and magic circles or the reformer's sliding foot bar.

This class will challenge your core and strengthen your body and challenge your mind with more advanced choreography and balance.

Not suitable for beginners, clients with osteoporosis, pregnant or postnatal mums.

Mums & Bubs Reformer

Mums & Bubs Reformer classes are for our new mums following their 6/8 week check. These classes allow you to bring your baby.

We focus on rebuilding you strength starting from your core.

Our Mums & Bubs are specifically designed for new mums to alleviate the aches and pains that come with mothering small children.

No prior Pilates experience required.

Pregnancy Reformer

Our pregnancy reformer classes are designed specifically for our pregnant mums. If you are past your first trimester, you must join our pregnancy classes.

Our classes are designed to strengthen your body and pelvic floor to help  prepare you for labour and recovery. We also incorporate extra pregnancy specific stretching to help ease the aches and pains that come with pregnancy.

No prior Pilates experience required.

Yoganic Tower

Yoganic Tower is our signature tower class. The Pilates tower will move your body in a completely different way to reformer and add a new challenge to clients who have been doing reformer or mat classes for years.

Tower classes are excellent for building strength and balance.

Not suitable for beginners, clients with osteoporosis, pregnant or postnatal mums.

Libby was so thorough, taking time to understand my injury and modifying exercises in class to ensure so further injury. What started as rehab has evolved into a genuine enjoyment of all the classes on offer - Barre and Reformer Pilates are my faves but have recently tried Yoga and Family yoga with my girls which were excellent. All of the instructors are well qualified, very thorough and the classes are a great workout but also fun.
