This unique class blends Yin yoga and mindfulness. It’s designed to help you
find a deeper sense of relaxation, calmness, and ease. This class is slow
paced and is perfect for anyone looking to slow down and unwind after a busy
day. This class combines the benefits of Yin yoga and mindfulness meditation
to create a deeply restorative experience.
Yin yoga is a practice that involves holding passive yoga poses for an
extended period of time, typically three to five minutes. The focus is on
stretching the connective tissues in the body, such as the ligaments, tendons,
and fascia. This slow-paced practice is perfect for anyone looking to increase
flexibility, improve joint mobility and reduce stress.
In combination with Yin yoga, mindfulness meditation helps to cultivate
awareness and attention to the present moment. This practice involves paying
attention to the breath, bodily sensations, and thoughts, without judgment or
distraction. By practicing mindfulness, you can develop a greater sense of
focus and mental clarity, reduce anxiety and improve emotional regulation.
In a Yin yoga and mindfulness class, you can expect a gentle warm-up
followed by a series of passive yoga poses, held for several minutes at a time.
You may be guided through a mindfulness meditation during the practice or
encouraged you to practice on your own. The class will end with savasana -
deep relaxation, allowing you to fully release any physical and mental tension.
This class is suitable for all levels and modification will be offered to
accommodate different levels of flexibility and mobility. Wear comfortable
clothing, bring a yoga mat and any props you may have, and be prepared to
slow down and tune in to your body and mind.
